A massive fire broke out on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The last 12 floors of a residential block were on fire, but fortunately, no one was injured, according to the international media.

The fire occurred at the Oceana block. The residents were quickly evacuated and several fire crews intervened on the spot managing to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and the incident is the latest of its kind to take place in Dubai in the recent months.

The most severe fire occurred on the 2016 New Year’s Eve in a luxury hotel from Dubai, The Address Downtown. The fire caused severe injuries o 16 victims.

The firefighters and the civil defense units announced the extinguishment of the fire on their Twitter account.

‘I got a knock on the door saying get out, there’s a fire’, said a British resident who lives three blocks away, in the same complex. He said this happened about 10.30pm.
