In the incoming year, the prizes for the Australian Open will sum up the fabulous number of 35 million euros.
The Australian Open is the first one of the four greatest tennis tours and will kick off in the first month of 2017.
The first tour of the Grand Slam, which begins on January 16 2017, has total prizes which have increased by 14% than last year.
The winner will take home a check of 2,6 Million euros. The sums for the first tours have also raised.
Since 2001 the prizes tripled and overcame the 2014 edition with 7 Million.
Craig Tiley, the director of the tour, has declared that the sums for the players eliminated in the first tours and for the ones who go home in the faze of the qualifications have raised.
Therefore, the ones leaving the competition after the first tour receive 35.000 euros, the ones in the second tour get 55.000, the third gets 90.000 and the fourth one 153.000.
The prizes for the quarters, the semifinals and for the final have increased by 9%.
Some of the participants that have a great chance of winning are Serena Williams, Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza.
US Open, the biggest Tennis tour, is also the one that has the biggest prizes. In 2016, the New York competition offered a sum of 44 Million euros.
The second one is Wimbledon with 36,27 Million euros and then there is Roland Garros with 32 Million.
