It was a sad holiday for the entire royal family after the granddaughter of the Queen of England, Zara Tindall, lost her pregnancy. The daughter of Princess Royal Anne, her husband, and the entire royal family made the announcement a day before Christmas.

The 35-year-old is presently the 16th in line to the throne. She is married to Mike Tindall, and they have a two-year-old girl together. Roughly a month ago on November 30th, the couple happily announced that they were pregnant for their second child. They also said that the pregnancy was due in spring.

At the time of that the pregnancy was made public, the spokesperson said that the Duke, the Queen and every other member of the family including the couple were excited about the pregnancy. If the baby had lived, it would have been the sixth great-grandchild born to the Queen.

Just a few days before the sad news, the couple attended a pre-Christmas lunch at the Palace where they met with Zara’s cousins, the rest of the entire royal family and many royal guests present.

The spokesperson representing the Buckingham Palace during the announcement said that the family would appreciate privacy at this sad time. It is unfortunate that this happened to them particularly in a time that was meant for merriment. The entire royal family stands firm as a pillar of support Zara and Mike Tindall.
