Mark Hunt filed today a lawsuit at the US District Court against UFC, Brock Lesnar and Dana White, president of UFC.
The heavyweight fighter wants both punitive and compensatory damages. He claims that the game with Brock Lesnar was wrongfully won by the rival, as the pre-fight drug test changed everything. The results were shown after the game took place and indeed they were positive. Substances that are banned were used by Lesnar.
He says that UFC has changed the results so that it would be beneficial for itself. Although it claims to have “the best anti-doping program in all of professional sports”, it has definitely broke the rules. He wants the UFC to be fair and stop doing this, to allow players to use drugs and get away with it.
He says that the message they transmit to the public it’s that cheating is OK. “In society, if you commit crime, you pay. Why is it different in MMA? It’s hurt the business, so it’s even worse. They need to be held accountable for this”, continued Hunt.
The player also adds that even though UFC knew about Lesnar’s drug use, they didn’t do anything. The UFC broke federal and state laws. Letting fighters that use drugs compete against clean ones in unfair. Hunt also says that UFC 200 is not the only time he was cheated.
In the suit, he mentions Frank Mir, Antonio Silva and Vitor Belfort.
UFC hasn’t responded yet to the allegations. In March, Hunt will fight at UFC 209 in Las Vegas.
