We couldn’t escape from Balenciaga’s signature pantashoes not even at the Met Gala
This fashion item is currently the most ‘in’ object when it comes to making a statement.
Although, from our personal point of view, these awkwardly-looking shoes are not exactly the classiest choice when it comes to a gala like Met, the red carpet was flooded by celebrities wearing them.
The fashion item costs no less than a £1,795 and the guys from Balenciaga branded them as ‘cosmetic pantashoes’ as ‘pants and shoes in one piece’.
The first starlet spotted wearing these on the red carpet was beautiful Latina Salma Hayek, who accessorized a simple LBD with a pair of pantashoes in electric blue.
‘The Balenciaga boots rocked on the runway, and work well as an over-the-knee-boot come skin-tight-pants hybrid with a mini dress or skirt. But on the red carpet with a floor-sweeping gown, the rock chick edge is lost.
‘Salma Hayek’s enviable figure is hidden beneath this combination of cobalt boot-pant and classic black gown and the pairing just feels awkward’, stated blogger and fashion expert Helen Canning Ford.
Victoria’s Secret model, Lily Aldridge made quite an appearance in a stunning white gown and red pantashoes.
However, the opinions regarding these crazy shoes are mixed
Some fashion critics believe these are genius, while others claim they look insane because if an average person shows up in public wearing these, they would look crazy and embarrassing.
Before the Met Gala, another celebrity spotted wearing Balenciaga’s pantashoes was Kylie Jenner, who paired the purple version with a long white t-shirt.
