After several months of speculation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially announced their engagement, the event apparently is set to take place in May 2018.
That means the two have only a few months to prepare the long-awaited event.
The reason why the couple chose to tie the knot in May is also super special.
Apparently, the chosen date is meant to honor Harry’s 96-year-old grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
“He is very close to his grandfather. Harry believes the wedding should take place as early as possible because he wants his grandfather to be there”, revealed the Royal expert Kate Nicholl for Business Insider.
Also, Harry wants the wedding to be more intimate, in comparison to the one thrown by Will and Kate.
“He does not want a wedding as huge as the one of William”, added the expert.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will get married at the St. George Chapel, at Windsor Castle.
The royal family will obviously pay for the wedding, including services, music flowers, and reception.
The Protestant artist will convert to Catholicism before the wedding and intends to become a British citizen, writes BBC.
The announcement of the engagement was made last month by the Clarence House, the residence of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
